Needy Soldier Supply Closet for Kfir Infantry Brigade
Yashar LaChayal brought a large quantity of toiletries (hundreds of toothbrushes, shampoos, etc.) to the Kfir Brigade’s training base. Soldiers from needy families will be able to request them from the unit’s social workers when needed.
Fleece Jackets for Special Needs Soldiers
Yashar LaChayal is proud to support IDF soldiers with special needs by donating 250 fleece jackets to soldiers located on 8 bases throughout Israel.
Jerusalem Sukkot Clinic
Yashar LaChayal was co-host to the Jerusalem Sukkot Clinic with HaPoel Jerusalem. We were honored to have Tamir Goodman and Amar’e Stoudemire with us. Amar’e even auctioned off his 2017 jersey, with the proceeds benefiting Yashar LaChayal’s Hoops for Heroes Initiative.
Needy Soldier Supply Closet at Michve Alon
We opened a new Needy Soldier Supply Closet at Michve Alon, a training base known for its ulpan. Michve Alon is the first stop for Lone Soldiers learning Hebrew and preparing to begin their service to the Israel Defense Forces. Our Needy Soldier Supply Closet in Michve Alon provides these lone soldiers, and other IDF soldiers who are facing financial difficulties, with basic supplies such as towels, toothpaste, and deodorant.
Warm Corner in Psagot
Yashar LaChayal has built a new pina chama (Warm Corner) in the town of Psagot. Soldiers on patrol are able to stop by and grab a refreshment and rest before having to go back out. The Warm Corner has been named Beit Ronen, in honor of Ronen Lubarsky, an elite soldier killed by a terrorist.
Rosh Hashana Food Baskets for Needy Soldiers
Yashar LaChayal provided 700 food baskets to soldiers from needy families for the upcoming holidays.
New Recreation Room for Border Patrol (East Jerusalem)
Yashar LaChayal has been helping to enhance the quality of life for Israeli soldiers serving in dangerous areas. Recently, we opened a new recreation room on a border patrol base deep in East Jerusalem. The soldiers on this unique base are responsible for patrolling East Jerusalem and the Old City. These soldiers, deep in dangerous territory are unable to leave their base even when they are not on duty. Yashar LaChayal is proud to have made their base more comfortable with a rec room that they can relax and watch tv in, use a computer, play some table sports, and get a cool ice coffee.

Yashar LaChayal was by Mendel Gordon’s side throughout his service as a lone soldier in the paratroopers. After his service, Mendel discovered he had cancer. His friends formed Team Mendel to help raise funds to support his treatment.
Yashar LaChayal is proud to be a part of Team Mendel, sponsoring fitness shirts for those running in a charity marathon.
