Yashar LaChayal hosted Congressman Ron DeSantis of Florida and his wife Casey, and Congressman Andy Harris of Maryland and his wife Sylvia on a visit to a few bases in the North.
They were helicoptered to the Shirion 71 Battalion, ate lunch with the officers, viewed the base, and gave out 90 water backpacks to the soldiers.
They spoke to the chayalim and told them of their unwavering commitment to Israel and the pride they shared being with the soldiers. During this visit, they spoke to Fadi, a Christian soldier in the Tank unit, and heard firsthand the loyalty of the Christian Arabs in the IDF.
We then traveled to the Syrian border for a visit to the IDF Field Hospital that is used to treat Syrian refugees crossing the border for emergency care, and visited with an elite unit near the Syrian border. It was a great day for Yashar LaChayal, the Congressmen and for Israel.
