Yashar LaChayal is proud to announce the kickoff of our Spring and Summer 2010 Water Backpack Campaign!

Yashar is asking for your support so we can provide water backpacks to combat units throughout the country. Donations for this much-needed item can be made via our website.

Each 3-liter backpack is only $25 so your generous contribution can go a long, long way.

In addition to the donations from our loyal donors, we ask those of you with connections to schools, organizations, and synagogues to help Yashar make this new project a big success, and reach more and more soldiers by running fundraising events in your communities. This is a great project for the upcoming Yom Ha’Atzmaut holiday, and a wonderful way for you to show our soldiers how much you care!

Israel is once again facing a situation in which the smuggling tunnels of Gaza are transferring tons of explosives.. It is a constant state that requires our soldiers to be ever alert, ever ready for the next battle. With a moment’s notice, they have to be ready to move, to defend, to protect. They don’t always have time to take what they need, to pack as if for some planned vacation. Even more, sometimes, they are called for weeks at a time and cannot bring enough with them.
In this most recent war, fought in the winter in Israel, our soldiers responded to an urgent need to protect the citizens of our country from rockets and mortars. After so many weeks, many do not have enough of the basics - socks, underwear, thermal shirts and pants to keep them warm.
The need is urgent, and therefore, so is our plea to you. Please support our soldiers. Yashar Lachayal has been there - every day of this war, collecting funds and turning it into the things we know they need. Commanders call us, even mothers. “My son is cold,” says one mother, and within days, her son’s unit was given thermal pants and socks. “Our soldiers don’t even have gloves,” says one commander, and again, Yashar Lachayal was there to answer the need.
