Yashar LaChayal is right on target

Our organization has a special relationship with the soldiers from Golani. We visit their bases and in the field, and are amazed at the dedication of these brave young men. We began to work with the Golani command, and decide upon a project that would have a great impact. Being selfless, and caring about their own, the officers suggested to help the most neediest of Golani soldiers. They were able to put together a list of soldiers who unfortunately, came from homes without the basic appliances. In conjunction with the officers, Yashar LaChayal checked these homes and verified that this was the case.
We contacted our dear friends, the Maschler family, and explained to them this unfortunate situation. Their reaction was typical of this special family- to fund the cost of 24 refrigerators! Yashar LaChayal was there- from inception to the placing of 24 refrigerators in homes across the country. Needless to say, from the Golani command, down to the soldiers themselves, everyone heard of this unique donation. The morale of these units is usually very high, but it reached the heavens with this special gift. We thank the Maschler family for their generous donation, and the Baldesares for all their help.

The “Soldier in Need” project is ongoing, and unfortunately, there are soldiers in other units that need your assistance.

Successful Purim campaign

Yashar LaChayal began our annual Mishloach Manot project with a generous donation from a group of caring people from Staten Island. The funds were earmarked specifically for hundreds of soldiers in the Golani units, who were stationed in remote areas. We immediately got to work and made most of the purchases in the local stores of Sderot. Two days before the holiday, we mobilized over 35 young volunteers from our community in Maale Adumim to put the baskets together, as you can imagine, it became an efficient assembly line! The next day, a large truck was sent to pick up these large baskets and bring them to the “shetach”- their present area. One can imagine the feelings of these soldiers, far from family, and in remote areas, receiving these “symbols” of brotherhood. We would like to thank the “Staten Islanders” and their friends.
